It has taken me awhile to depict the Battersea Power Station again. By 2018 I began to see great changes around the Power Station. So much so I could no longer see the lovely reddish-brown bricks of the building and felt inspired to document the changes. For the Gradual Disappearance 2012 to 2018 I overprinted Before The Disappearance with The Disappearance adding a few changes using transparent inks showing hints of the original. There is one more version to create when all the building has finished.
Another reason for creating this series of prints is that the Power Station is being swamped by a rapid building programme, which has resulted in the new buildings being very close to the Power Station on the side I can see from my studio overpowering the building itself.
