Dorney Lake 2012
Dorney Lake was created in response to a commission to show a rowing image during the Olympics. I was invited to take photographs of the World Championships in August 2011. From the photographs I simplified the images, which were further simplified when I cut the shapes to be printed out of amberlith (a light blocking film), and then exposed the shapes on a light box. This was a complicated print requiring about thirty separate pulls of colour and was the first time I had attempted to use figures in my work. Please click on these images for larger versions.

Dorney Lake III is just four pulls of colour, rather than thirty pulls as for Dorney Lake I. With this print Jane hoped to capture the simple essence of rowing.
