I love this view of Holyhead Mountain and has always wanted to depict it. I am also a keen sailor. Covid inspired me to create this series of prints showing when there was racing in 2019 and then cancelled in 2020. Before the Race to Holyhead print can be seen as an image before the race when there are no boats around or during 2020. In the making of these prints I tried the reduction technique for the landscape which involved blocking off certain areas as I went along with photo emulsion. Photo emulsion is more stable than screen filler, it does have to be hardened by light each time it is applied. Time consuming, but worth it. .
