Aspley House I is a simplification of the interior, as a result of several visits to Aspley
House. The source of inspiration was the stripped wallpaper and ridged table edge.
This enabled me to incorporate my stripped motif along with developing the use of
space through geometric forms and tones of grey. There are two other versions of this
in blues and greens, and also red, yellows and oranges. This series was repeated as
screenprints.
