Into Grey I, 1996

The 'Into Grey' series was inspired by looking at Albers’ ‘Interaction Colour’. The aim
was to blend the paint in stripes using the complimentary colours, i.e. red and green
and the grey mixture produced. The idea was to blend the colours in such a way that
a haze would occur in the middle of the picture. This was not achieved, but what
resulted was the grey stripes became like a mist between bars, almost transcendental.
I also painted a blue, red and grey version, and a violet, yellow and grey version.
