Lanzarote is known as a destination for people needing to recuperate after illness. This notion inspired me to create this simplified image of a view from my hotel room. I was struck by the diagonal shaft of bright sunlight across the sea, which could be coming from the lighthouse, the sun or even something unknown shining its healing light across the great expanse of sky and sea. The introduction of curves into my work is a further development of my work. This image is also available as a painting, acrylic on canvas, 61x91cm.
