This painting is an abstraction of the basement of 19, Princelet Street. It is a place that has seen many changes over the years. Even though the basement is dark there is a glow of light shining through the skylights from the floor above. I wanted to play with the interlocking background shapes to exaggerate the perspective. There is also a printed version of this as a screenprint, 18x33cm.
